What is included in the "Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge" ?


Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge

The Assessment consists of two (2) books, each with 150 multiple-choice type questions. Each book is given in a three (3) hour session. The sessions are held in the morning and afternoon of one day.
Outlined below are the content areas that may be tested.
Book 1
Biomedical Science Knowledge as it relates to:
- human anatomy
- human physiology
- human histology
- human biochemistry
- growth and development of the craniofacial complex
- oral physiology
- microbiology and immunology of oral diseases
- neurological sciences
- tooth morphology,
- pain and pain management
- nutrition
- pharmacology
- biological effects of radiation
- oral biomaterials
Book 2
Applied Preclinical and/or Clinical Sciences as it relates to:
- general medicine and general pathology
- oral medicine and oral pathology
- radiology
- periodontics
- preventive dentistry
- operative dentistry
- endodontics
- prosthodontics
- orthodontics
- pediatric dentistry
- geriatric dentistry
- oral and maxillofacial surgery
- therapeutics
- dental biomaterials
- behavioural sciences
- dental public health and epidemiology
- ethics
- pain and anxiety control
- local anesthesia
